Ombré Lip Tutorial: Candy Yum Yum and Viva Glam Nicki 2!

Hey guys!

Today I have a pictorial for you! You've probably seen a ton of ombré lips on Youtube, Tumblr, and Instagram. I've seen them get pretty complicated, so I thought I'd show you an easy, hassle free way to get that faded look!
You want to start off with clean, moisturized, exfoliated lips. This will help the lipsticks blend better into each other, and will allow you to use unforgiving shades without worrying about dry patches.

For my colors, I picked MAC's Candy Yum Yum (a bright matte hot pink) and Viva Glam Nicki 2 (a pale lavender cream). The reason I picked these two is because they're similar enough to where they'll blend nicely, but they're still different enough to create contrast.

You want to start the way you would line your lips. Use the bolder color (or vice versa, depending on the look you want) to fill in the outer edges of your lips, but leave the center of your mouth bare.

Then, take the lighter color and fill in that gap. Don't worry about blending it just yet, just try to get as much color as you can in the bare area.

It should look uneven and harsh (like the picture below), which is perfect for blending!

This is the super easy part. Just mix your lips! Rub 'em together (slightly, you don't wanna erase the contrast).

And guess what? THAT'S IT. You're done! You can use this technique with any color combination you like, and you've got an easy way to amp up your look for day or night! :)

What do you guys think? Will you be trying this anytime soon?
xoxo Fanii
