Review and Swatches: MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick and Lipglass!

 Hey, guys!

Oh dear. It's happened. MAC has released the new Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass for 2014, and the face of Viva Glam this year is Rihanna! Given the success of all the Rihanna-centered collections over the last few months, it really comes as no surprise that they chose her to represent Viva Glam. Honestly, it seems like a very smart and charitable decision. People buy Rihanna stuff so readily, and this is a cause that really serves a purpose.

100% of the sales price of these products ($15 USD for the lipstick, $16 USD for the lipglass) goes to the MAC AIDS fund, which helps adults and children living with HIV and AIDS. Straight from MAC's website, here's what one Viva Glam product can do:

  • Provide more than two weeks' worth of nutritious food to a person living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County
  • Feed one resident three homemade meals and snacks for one week; provide one resident with a clean, safe place to sleep for two nights.
  • Serve two home-delivered meals or two meals at a dining center.
  • Provide one bag of food (equaling nine meals) from a food pantry.
  • Purchase one month's worth of supplemental food for a low-income person living with HIV/AIDS in Portland, Oregon.
  • Provide at least 45 minutes of lifesaving HIV prevention skills, building training to groups of 20-75 women and girls.
  • Provide 80 pounds of nutritious food to be distributed through a food pantry program
  • Provide a six-month supply of Omega 3 fish oil to help decrease inflammation caused by the immune system's battle against the HIV virus.
  • Fund one day's housing with supportive services for a homeless person
  • Provide five hours of G.E.D. preparation for an individual person.
The list goes on and on and on :) I love this program, because MAC is honestly passionate about giving as much as possible to those who need it the most. If you'd like to learn more about the MAC AIDS Fund, you can visit their website.

Lip Swatches :) Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in Mischievous and Shameless

Hey, guys!

Today I wanted to show you two of the new(ish) Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. I have Shameless, which is a deep matte purple and Mischievous, a light, orange creamsicle color. For the most part, both of these are pigmented and smooth to apply; they have a peppermint scent and are lightly moisturizing.

Review and Swatches: Butter London Colour Wink Mascara in Indigo Ink!

Hey guys!

Today I'm reviewing the Butter London Colour Wink Mascara in Indigo Ink. It's no secret that good, pigmented colored mascaras are hard to find, so I wasn't expecting much out of this one. Much to my surprise (and Landon's Dismay, I'll explain later), all of the mascaras in this range were pigmented and smooth, even on dark hair!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown: Swatches and Demo!

Hey, guys!

I know. It's happened. If you go on Instagram and follow any makeup artists at all, you will have seen this baby enough times to make you wanna throw your phone into the ocean. Anastasia Beverly Hills (the unofficial queen of brows in the makeup world) released a new brow product.

You don't just ignore this stuff.

The new Dipbrow Pomade comes in five different shades: Blonde, Auburn, Chocolate, Dark Brown, and Ebony. I picked the shade Dark Brown because although it is nearly identical to Chocolate, it is cooler in tone and matched my hair and brows better.

Laura Mercier Artist Palette Tutorial: African Violet :)

Hey guys!

Here is that pictorial I promised, using my favorite shade in the Laura Mercier Artist Palette: African Violet. So just sick back, scroll down, and enjoy!

I first applied NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to the lid, being careful not to blend it too much into the crease.

Then I blended it with my ring finger. When you do this, try not to rub all of it off, but rather pat and drag it across your lid.

I then took a flat, stiff brush and loaded it with African Violet from the Laura Mercier Artist Palette. I patted this all over the lid and smoothed it into the crease a bit.

Tada!

I then took a fluffier brush and packed it with Plum Smoke from that same palette and used it to blend out the edges of the lid color.

On the same fluffy brush, I took Violet Ink and used it to define and smoke out the outer v.

You'll end up with a splotchy patch of deep purple, but what you want is to leave that outer v packed with color.

Then, take a fluffy brush and blend the darker color into the rest of your eyeshadow. I used a bit of the Kir Royal color in the palette to really make it blend nicely.

Then I took a flatter, smaller brush and ran Kir Royal on my lower lashline.

That's most of the eyeshadow done!

I highlighted my browbone with Vanilla Nuts, and used it to blend the top edge of the crease color.

Finally, I highlighted the inner corner with Sparlking Dew :)

Winged liner time! (let me know if a tutorial on this alone would be helpful!)

From here, you could apply black mascara and call it a day! (when have I ever just called it a day with makeup?)

Whoo!!!! I'm taking BUTTER London's Colour Wink Mascara in Indigo Ink and applying thick coats to my lashes :)

This is obviously a crazier look, and totally optional :)

I love how this looks! It might not be for everyone, but I absolutely love this mascara!

What do you guys think? Will you wear this with black or purple mascara? :)
xoxo Fanii

Ombré Lip Tutorial: Candy Yum Yum and Viva Glam Nicki 2!

Hey guys!

Today I have a pictorial for you! You've probably seen a ton of ombré lips on Youtube, Tumblr, and Instagram. I've seen them get pretty complicated, so I thought I'd show you an easy, hassle free way to get that faded look!
You want to start off with clean, moisturized, exfoliated lips. This will help the lipsticks blend better into each other, and will allow you to use unforgiving shades without worrying about dry patches.

Hey, guys!

Today I have for you what may just be my favorite NOTD ever. Last summer I fell in love with the claw look, and this is my favorite look yet!

Laura Mercier Artist Palette: Swatches and Review!

Hey guys!

Another item I bought from Sephora earlier this year was the Laura Mercier Artist Palette. This is the second palette like this that Laura Mercier has put out. I don't have the first one, but I understand it was a lot heavier on the navies and browns than this one is.
