NOTD: Trendy Twist

Hi, everyone!!

I've been totally swamped with schoolwork lately (I can't go to MAC with a clean conscience unless I do well in school.... how's that for motivation?), and so I haven't been able to post every day, as I'd like to! I do, however, want to show you my nail of the day (it has been removed. RIP.). It was inspired by the YSL nail polish ad campaign that came out a couple of months ago, and is a combination of polishes in what I think is a more fun and modern version of the french manicure :)

The navy blue color (which I LOVE wearing by itself) is Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure nail polish in "Thinking of Blue," and the silver I used for the tips is Revlon's Top Speed nail polish in "Metallic."

I absolutely love this combination, for some reason. I think it's a quirky way to wear the classic French manicure (which I personally don't care for), while wearing something versatile and actually quite neutral. The YSL nail polishes are all sold out!! (ok, not really, but the only colors left are a duo in baby pink and white. Boring.)

....Ok, so YSL did it about 100000+ times better, but I still like my look! Feel free to wear whatever combination you like best! YSl has officially given us license to wear crazy polish this fall, and I'm not passing up on that!!

  1. that is soooo awesome! Did you use nail polish strips or do it by hand?

  2. I actually couldn't get hold of real strips, so I just used tape! It's a bit trickier, but it still works :) Thanks for reading!
