So, MAC recently released a Marilyn Monroe inspired collection and, while I'm not the biggest Monroe fan, I couldn't help but pick up a couple of things!
The first thing I picked up is something that I missed when Iris Apfel came out this past summer: Scarlet Ibis. Now, I know this isn't anything like Monroe's iconic red lip, but it suits me perfectly! It's the perfect combination of bright orange and red.
It has a matte finish, but is surprisingly comfortable to wear. I haven't had any trouble with it cracking, fading, or settling into fine lines on my lips. It's one of the better matte lipsticks I've come across!
The second thing I picked up is something that I don't really have in my collection: a nude blush.
Okay, okay... So, The Perfect Cheek isn't really a nude color. This is fairly close for me, considering colors like Natural Beauty (Tarte) and Raspberry (Bobbi Brown) are my everyday shades! The Perfect Cheek is an extremely wearable matte mauve-pink with neutral undertones. I'm serious when I say this blush could probably take on most of the work in your makeup routine; I can see it being paired with anything from smokey eyes to natural makeup, even bright colors!
I love both of these new products!
Did you pick up anything from this collection?
