Lip du Jour: Revlon Lipstick in Black Cherry

So, everyone and their mothers know that the biggest trend for fall and winter fashion shows was the color "ox-blood". That means that people have been scrambling to find deep burgundy in jeans, boots, sweaters, scarves, and yes, even lipsticks. Since this is a passing trend, I wanted to find a cheaper lipstick that would give me a trendy look without taking off with my wallet when the fad passes.

Revlon's Black Cherry is a deep plum with strong red undertones. It looks almost black in the tube, which is why I was so hesitant to get it in the first place. It applies relatively sheer, considering how solid and dark the color looks at first. This is the perfect lipstick. I am in love. 

"But, why?" you ask, "Isn't it very dramatic? You can't possibly wear it a lot."

Wrong. This lipstick has been everything to me for the past month. I've used it completely opaque with an icy eye look (step by step tutorial here), I've used it as a stain by dabbing it on with my finger, it's even worked as a blush! Investing in a shade like this will give you so many different choices when it comes to your makeup look.
